About me

Ciao. I work on coffee business since 1998 when I did my Phd research. On 1999 I started to work for Nuova Simonelli where I've covered several jobs along the time (accountability, export area manager, brand manager, marketing manager, marketing director, Corporate Strategy and business development). After my University degree in Economy and management I got a Master Science on International Business in London. I'm co-author of a book "Il ritorno alla competitività dell'espresso italiano" which give a deep analysis on the evolution of the coffee industry and I've been speaker in several conferences on coffee and on marketing. In the period 2013-2020 I've been president of Ucimac (the national association of Coffee machines manufacturers). I love coffee. On November 2022 I was named "Coffee Personality of the Year" by CoffeExperts.

The future of coffee is Canephora

Speciality coffee was a term first coined back in 1974 and as our understanding of that grew through subsequent waves of coffee, Robusta has often been disregarded or actively spurned. Consider though that in the 1950’s it accounted for 13% of the market, rising to 30% by the end of the 1980’s and continues its growth today.
